Daisy Kwakye is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with experience working with adult populations across a variety of medical settings including acute care, acute rehabilitation, outpatient rehabilitation, and skilled nursing facilities. Her clinical experience includes working with individuals experiencing difficulties related to communication, language, cognition, swallowing, voice, and fluency as a result of neurological and medically complex conditions.
Daisy is passionate about providing highly individualized, patient-centered care that focuses not only on clinical progress, but also on improving confidence, independence, quality of life, and meaningful day-to-day function. Her therapeutic approach combines evidence-based treatment, clinical expertise, and a holistic perspective to support the patient as a whole person rather than solely focusing on a diagnosis. She values creativity and individualized problem-solving in therapy, often thinking beyond traditional approaches to help patients find functional strategies and treatment techniques that best support their unique needs, goals, and lifestyles.
Her clinical training and certifications include specialized education in the McNeill Dysphagia Therapy Program, kinesiology taping, manual therapy, jaw rehabilitation, VitalStim Therapy, SPEAK OUT!therapy, and AmpCare Effective Swallowing Protocol. She additionally has experience utilizing therapeutic devices and rehabilitation tools including tongue and lip strengthening devices, expiratory muscle strength training (EMST), The Breather device, and incentive spirometry as part of individualized treatment planning when clinically appropriate.
Daisy earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Communication Disorders from William Paterson University, where she developed the clinical foundation and passion that continue to guide her work today.
Through SpeakThinkSwallow, Daisy strives to create a supportive and compassionate environment where patients feel heard, empowered, and confident throughout their rehabilitation journey.
